Little Mary

It is with great pleasure I introduce my newest niece, Mary! My sister, Marla, and brother in law, Joe, along with their daughters, Anna and Elizabeth, welcomed sweet little Mary into this world and our family on Friday, February 22nd. Weighing just 7 pounds 1 ounce and 19.5 inches long she is as sweet as can be. Both mommy and baby are great and big sisters are in awe of their precious baby sister.

I'd be lying if I said Mary's arrival didn't make me super excited to meet Mya!! Only about 3 more months to wait!

Here's my precious niece! I love her so much already!!

Snow Days

One of the perks of both Pat and I being teachers is that we often get snow days together! The past two days have been great! We got to relax, do a few things around the house and most importantly Landon got to play in the snow! He loved it! I was a bit shocked because a few weeks ago we got a little snow and he wanted nothing to do with it!! Today was a different story! He absolutely loved it! I got him all dressed and put him in the garage to watch daddy shovel. As soon as his little bottom hit the pavement he took off down the driveway as fast as he could. He just sat in it and took it all in. Pat shoveled around him and finally Landon was left on his own little island of snow. He was not happy when we made him move so the last of the snow could be shoveled away. I have a feeling that next year he will really love the snow!!!!

Shooting Hoops

Pat and I got Landon a basketball hoop for Christmas.  It pretty much has just been part of the decor for the last two months.  Now that Landon is walking he has had a new interest in the hoop.  He goes to all of Pat's games with me so he sees the bis boys shooting the ball.  He's pretty proud of himself that he can shoot hoops too.  Here's a little clip of our basketball stud!

Walking!

Landon started crawling fairly early on, so we thought he would be an early walker... we were wrong!  He took a little bit longer than we expected but that's ok... it allowed mommy to rest a little more.  Now my days and nights are consumed by chasing around a very active 14 month old.  Of course, I wouldn't trade it for anything!  He's been taking a step here and there for about two months but never quite got enough courage to go any further.  Within the past two weeks we have seen him testing it out and working about the nerve to take a few more steps.  Now, he is definitely on the go...even trying to run but we haven't perfected that yet!  The running attempts usually end in a face plant into the carpet, he rolls over, and then busts out laughing.   Pat and I couldn't be more proud of our little man.... he truly makes our world go round!

Here's a clip of our walking machine...

Visit with Paige

Today Landon and I went and visited with Paige.  We took her some new spring decor and a chick for Easter.  How we miss our sweet girl!

We love you Paige!!

Valentine's Day

Happy (late) Valentine's Day!  We hope you all had a great day and it was spent with someone you love!

I loved spending the evening with both my boys!  We had a nice relaxing evening at home!

Here's my youngest Valentine!

A Second Nursery

That's right... we need a second nursery!  Landon will not be ready to move out of his room or his crib for that matter when Mya arrives in May.  So, we will be putting together a 2nd nursery.  I'm actually glad and a bit relieved to have to buy a new crib.  I have so much anxiety about this pregnancy because it's a girl.  You can read more about that in my previous post, On My Mind.   With that said I have even more anxiety about putting together another nursery for a baby girl.  I can't bare the thought of having another pink nursery...I physically can't bring myself to do it.  It's not happening.  I had a beautiful pink nursery and my daughter never saw it, never slept in it, we never brought her home to it.  I try not to play the "what if" game, but it's crossed my mind.  What if Mya doesn't come home?  What if we put together a second girl nursery and something happens?  It's a bad game to play and it's one I try not to participate in.  However, there are times when I do.  Paige's furniture was black and Landon uses it now.  It wasn't hard for me to give him her crib.  His room is completely different.  Paige's room was pink with black and white accents.  Covered in polka dots and damask.  Landon's room is blue with sports stuff throughout... completely different.  Mya will have white furniture.  I need it to be completely different.  No worries, Mya will have a very girly nursery... just the walls won't be pink.  There will be touches of pink throughout, but a different shade of pink than what was in Paige's room.   It just has to be that way.  Now, I sit with a spare bedroom full of 2 years of "clutter" that needs to be removed in order to get it ready for Mya.  We have some major work to do in there!!!  I hope to make strides over the next month or two... May is only 3 months away so I better get a workin!!!

On a side note:  We are looking for white baby furniture.  I'm not opposed to used especially a dresser or other furniture items... if you know someone who is wanting to sell white baby furniture.. please let me know!!!
