Thats a Winner

Pat's varsity basketball coaching career has begun and he is 1- 0!  On Wednesday night his team played in the annual Turkey Bowl game.  This is a long tradition of St. Charles West vs. St. Charles High.  St. Charles High has won the past few years, so Pat was determined to bring the title back to West.  I was so proud of my husband as he coached his team to a victory!  Pat was made to coach, I'm sure of that!  He absolutely loves it and the boys he coaches absolutely love him.  He is a young varsity coach, but he's up for the challenge and I know he will put his heart and soul into every game.  He is such a natural and stayed calm and collected even when the other team came within three with just a few minutes left.  I on the other hand was a nervous wreck... I may be that obnoxious fan.  :/    Here are a few pictures from the night.  Landon did not attend because the gym was PACKED and the game didn't start until 8 pm.  Thanks to Pat's aunt and cousin for keeping our little man.

Landon ready for the game even though he didn't get to go.

The final score!!!

Here's a video of the end of the game.  Pat's assistant coach's mom took this video.  At the very end after West won she filmed Pat's grandpa giving a thumbs up.  This is so special because Grandpa Gene did not miss one of Pat's games growing up and it was so special to Pat that he was there Wednesday night.

#3

There's not much to say,
but BABY #3 IS ON THE WAY!!!

Pat and I are so thrilled to announce that baby Steinhoff #3 will be here in May 2013!!!
We couldn't be more excited to be expanding our family and we know once again, our sweet Paige, is watching over all of us even the sweet peanut growing inside me.

I am now 13 weeks along and found out today that we will get to find out if Baby 3 is a he or she on December 17th!  What an amazing Christmas gift!!!

Here is Landon's reaction to the news....

I'm going to be a BIG brother!!!

Hall of Fame

On Saturday night my dad was inducted into the St. Mary's High School Sports Hall of Fame.  This is an honor long over due and very much deserved. After 27 years of coaching baseball and soccer at St. Mary's my dad ended his coaching career at the end of last school year.  In his own words, "I thought it would be good to stop while I was on top.  My health is good and their are some great, new, young coaches who I trust to take over the program."  I know my dad has been instrumental in the athletic department at St. Mary's.  Many young men have learned a great deal from him.  The event on Saturday was so nice.  All of my siblings and their spouses were in attendance (with the exception of Eddie who lives in Atlanta).  My dads sister in law and her entire family came to support dad and my moms sister and her family were there as well.  The greatest moment of the night was when my dad's name was announced..... we were near the front and I turned around and the entire room was on their feet clapping.  What a tribute to my dad.  There were nine others inducted, my dad was the only one who had a standing ovation... I'm so proud of him.

Here's a picture of dad making his speech.. which if you know my dad, it was FANTASTIC!

11 Months

11 MONTHS!!!  Our baby boy is almost a year!!!  I just love this age!  Landon is such a happy little boy and so full of life and spunk.  He makes us laugh daily and brings more love to our home than we even knew possible.  We can't believe in less than a month we will be celebrating a 1st birthday in the Steinhoff household!  Little mister has no idea what he's in for... :)

This month Landon is..
~wearing size 3 diapers
~wearing mostly 9-12 month clothes, he does still fit into some 6 -9 month stuff too
~eating 3 good meals a day and drinking 3 bottles
~loving his sippy cup
~crawling like a maniac, walking along everything and starting to stand unassisted (still not walking by himself yet)
~still toothless!!!!  I really hope they come in, I'd hate to buy dentures for my 1 year old:/
~kissing anyone who will allow him to lay a wet, slobbery one on their cheek
~climbing up steps and climbing on anything he can find (little monkey)
~laughing at everything and anything and he usually claps when something makes him laugh
~babbling up a storm... he is definitely my child... he just talks and talks and talks
~a little snuggle bear when he gets sleepy and just wakes up (this is mommy and daddy's favorite time of the day)
~sleeping through the night... 11 hours (most nights)
~filling our hearts with so much joy!

We love you buddy!  Happy 11 Months!  Here is our little man ...  (you'll see that he can hardly sit still for a picture anymore)

Just Like Daddy

Last night I walked into the room and found both my boys watching a coach's clinic on the computer. It was too cute. Landon was so concentrated on the screen and Pat was explaining each move. I'm sure Landon understood it all ;). I just love how much these two guys love each other!
